Excel Academy Cell Phone Policy
Cell Phone Policy- To promote appropriate use of technology while maintaining the integrity of teaching and learning, the cell phone policy will require students to turn in their devices before the instructional day begins and retrieve them at the end of the day. Students will turn in their electronic devices in the morning during arrival procedures. Students will get a pouch labeled with their name and grade on it, placing the phone in the bag and into a grade-level bucket with the homeroom teacher's name on it. Each grade level has a different color pouch and bucket.
- Kindergarten- 2nd grade students will turn in their devices to their teachers.
- 3- 5th grade students will turn in their cellphones at the designated location by placing devices in a labeled pouch that has the students name and grade labeled on it
- Students will place the phone in a bucket labeled with the grade and homeroom teacher's name on it.
- Middle school students- turn in their cellphones at the designated location by placing devices in a labeled pouch that has the students name and grade labeled on it
- Students will place the phone in a bucket labeled with the grade and homeroom teacher's name on it.
- All middle school electronic devices must be turned in before going through the weapons abatement safety screening.
- A member of the Culture and Climate Team will return student devices at homeroom doors with homeroom teachers.
- Student devices will be returned during dismissal by grade level bands.
- ECE- Kindergarten: Homeroom Teacher Grades 3-5: Henderson/Bush
- Grade 6: Ward/Jones Grades 7 & 8: Mills (ALL MS) and (All ES)
- Students who have early departure will retrieve their device from the Main Office or classroom teacher.
